Hobart, the capital of the Tasmania province can be reached by a short flight of 1,5 hours. It is worth to stay at least five days in Tasmania, to enjoy some different places and nature.

A visit to Tasmania starts in Hobart which is the only big city on the island. Apart from the city centre, the harbour, the Salamanca Market and a visit to the local government house of Tasmania are recommended. If there are no official meetings it is even possible to take a seat in the local parliament.

Hobart is situated in between mountains and just outside the city Mount Wellington is located. From the summit of this mountain there is a fantastic panoramic view of the city and island. Only be prepared for strong winds.

Just outside Hobart, the MONA (Museum of Old and New Art) museum can be visited. You can visit this museum by boat which depart from the harbour. The museum has a diverse collection, some works of art are better than others. It is a museum that is well-known in Tasmania and one of the places to visit during the stay in Hobart.
