Apart from modern architecture, Dubai has also more traditional and historic parts. This parts can be found in Burj Dubai and in Deira. In Burj Dubai there are traditional buildings which are not spoilt by modern buildings. There’s a souq where you can buy souvenirs. Deira has as one of the main attractions the Gold Souq where locals but also tourist can buy their jewellery. The neighbourhood Deira is good to find cheaper accommodation is near to the airport and the restaurants are more local than in the modern parts of the city. More local means also that the prices are much lower but the food is still very good.

The best spots to experience the real wealth of Dubai are Hotel Atlantis which can be reached by monorail and of course the seven-star hotel Burj Al Arab. A night will cost you at the last place more than EUR 1.500 a night so an excursion is the best option when you have an ordinary job. Then a guided tour is given and you’ll enjoy some snacks and cocktails. Another option is to have dinner in the hotel.
