El Tatio Geyser
About 4 A.M. in the morning the excursion from San Pedro de Atacama to the El Tatio Geysers departs. This because the thermal fields are most active early in the morning around sunset. The area is at an altitude of about 4.300 meters so it’s important being not too active and not to forget warm clothing. Because early in the morning it can be around the freezing point. It’s an impressive area because there’re so many geysers in one place and it’s easy to walk around. After the geyser, the excursion makes some other stops to enjoy the local nature and in the afternoon you’re back in San Pedro de Atacama.
