Santiago

The first impression when you visit Santiago is that you visit a European city like for example in Spain, Portugal or Italy. Everything is modern and for Latin American standards it’s quite a safe big city.

For about two days it’s really possible to explore the city, after that it’s time for a change. Because there’s not a huge old city centre and museums are quite standard. The parks are beautiful and the central market is just fun to visit because of the local experience.

In Santiago you can visit next to the parks some different neighbourhoods. Bellavista is famous for its nightlife but also daytime activity. During the day it’s a good idea to visit Cerro Santa Lucia which gives a panoramic view of Santiago and its air pollution.

Around Santiago winery tour

From Santiago it’s easy to join a winery tour to the nearby wineries so that’s something which is a recommendation to do like a half day tour. I went to Conya y Toro. One of the biggest wineries in Chile, which exports all over the world.
