São Paulo

São Paulo is the biggest city in Brazil. It is busy, not too touristic and has quite a lot of places to visit for two days. The main sights are well-connected with the metro. When I was there there were some good neighborhoods to stay that you in the evening could walk on the street to your restaurant. I stayed in Vila Madalena but also the area nearby Avenida Paulista felt in general safe.

São Paulo has apart from these neighborhoods an old historic centre and a China Town. Those areas are best visited during working hours between about 9 AM and 4 PM. In the centre you can visit the busy streets around the Central Market or enjoy the panoramic view from the Banespa building. Both free attractions and easy to find. Another famous spot downtown is São Paulo Cathedral.
