Trinidad and Jesus
The ruins of Trinidad and Jesus can be visited as a day trip from Posadas in Argentina. There are frequent buses departing which cross the border with Paraguay and have the destination Encarnación. From this city a local bus can be taken to the ruins of Trinidad and the bus will stop about a kilometre from the entrance. The ruins are really impressive but it’s quiet and there are not a lot of tourists. A little bit strange because it has to be one of the most impressive sights in Paraguay and it’s UNESCO World Heritage.
For a visit to the ruins of Jesus you’ll have to walk back to the main road where the bus has stopped. From there’s it’s possible to take an unofficial cab for about EUR 10 – 12 (prices 2011) for a visit to the ruins inclusive 30 minutes waiting which is enough.
