Isla Ometepe
On Isla Ometepe it is advisable to stay in the main village of Moyogalpa. This saves you an expensive taxi and public transport on the island is very limited. In the low season after Eastern it’s hard to find tours. Your best way to get around is by scooter, motorbike, or ATV. I’ve chosen the last option. A scooter is not comfortable because of the rocks on roads to the sights. An ordinary driving license is sufficient to hire one. I’ve visited on my day the nature reserve of Charco Verde, Ojos de Agua. Apart from that I’ve seen some petroglyphs and went to the museum of Ometepe in Altagracia.
