La Fortuna and Caño Negro
La Fortuna is situated next to the Arenal Volcano and there’re a lot of options to enjoy yourself a couple of days. There’re hikes near to the volcano and visits to a spa offered. For me the highlight is definitely the visit I’ve made to the Nature Reserve of Caño Negro where you can see a lot of wildlife like birds but also crocodiles during a boat trip.
The hike on the Arenal Volcano which is a half a day tour is easy and at the end, you can enjoy the sunset. Next the Arenal Volcano it’s possible to do canopy as well. It’s professional and expect that you zipline on heights of more than 40 meters. But even with afraid of heights this is not a difficult excursion, because you don’t have to climb scary ladders.
