Late afternoon an excursion to Valle de la Luna departs every day from San Pedro de Atacama. Valle de la Luna is just outside the village so there’re quite a lot of people on a bicycle as well. But an organised tour is better because of the heath, the landscapes are quite empty and for the experience a beautiful sunset. For the sunset you’ll have to follow the road which goes to the top of the mountains. The sunset you don’t want to miss because if the weather is clear the landscape colours in gold.
