Koper

Koper is one of the largest coastal cities in Slovenia. Not the most beautiful one because that is Piran which is about 20 kilometres further. But this city offers better options for more affordable accommodation during the high season. To Piran is only a short bus ride from Koper. For this reason, I stayed during my visit two nights in Koper. The city has a small old city centre with colorful buildings and it is just pleasant to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere.

From Koper, there are direct public busses to Ljubljana and there are during summer busses to the Croatian part of Istria too.
