Things to do in Gdansk

Gdansk has a beautifully restored old town which is worth it staying here a long weekend. In the old city centre you can walk around, enjoy good restaurants and its atmosphere. One of the most atmospheric areas is Mariacka Street.

In addition to this, you can make a boat trip on the Motlawa river and its harbor with the storehouses. To have a panoramic view you can visit the city hall and climb the tower. St. Mary’s Church is another option for a panoramic view but here you can choose as well to focus just on the interior of the church which has free entrance.

A little outside the centre you can climb Gradowna Hill. There are fortifications that played an important role in the defense of the city in the last centuries.

Connections

Gdansk has many connections to other parts of Poland like Warsaw. Nearby places of interest are Malbork and Sopot. I used the international airport for my visit. From the airport, you can take the public bus to downtown Gdansk.
