One of the places to start a visit to Montenegro is Kotor. The place has a beautiful well maintained and atmospheric old town. Next to the village in the mountains is a fortress which offers a wide panoramic view of the bay of Kotor. The climb to the summit of the mountain is about 30 minutes if you don’t stop too often. The best time to hike is in the morning or late afternoon because of the lack of shade. Temperature can be during summer around 35 degrees. In the bay are public beaches which offer plenty of opportunities to swim.
