Chișinău

A visit with Moldova will start in the capital Chișinău. The city is nice but has not many attractions so within half a day you can cover a lot of interesting places. The city has to offer also still quite a lot of Soviet architecture. So a lot of grey and not always the nicest looking buildings. Apart from the main buildings and a park, the city has a traditional local market near the central bus station which is worth to walk around. This is the place where locals since 1825 buy their fresh products.

Mileştii Mici

Moldova has to offer a lot for people who like wine. From Chișinău you can make a wine tour to Mileştii Mici. Here you can visit the underground wine city with the largest collection of wines in the world. To arrange this excursion it’s important to arrange a car and driver because there’s a hallway system of about 200 kilometres underground. 60 kilometres are used to store wine. The best option is to hire a taxi for half a day. Of course a visit is not only a guided tour but also a wine tasting. They’ve all different kinds of wine red, white and also sparkling wine. A Moldovan wine tasting means that you get four different wines to taste with a group of three persons. Within 2 hours and including some snacks the bottles of wine are finished. So a driver is definitely needed.
