Cobh

About half an hour by train from Cork is the village Cobh located. Cobh is most famous for the fact that from this place about 2,5 mln. of the 6 mln. of Irish people emigrated between 1848 and 1950 from Ireland to Northern America. Cobh has museum which is dedicated to this historic event and this is worth to give it a visit. Apart from the museum, you can make a short walk in the centre and harbor where the boats left with the emigrants. People went to Northern America to have a more prosperous future. Nowadays Ireland is much more developed than it was those days.
