Things to do in Eger
Eger offers an old town with many well-maintained historic buildings. The city is small and sights can be visited on foot when your accommodation is near the city centre. The main highlight to visit is the castle which has a museum and ruins nearby where you can walk. From the castle, there is a panoramic view of the city centre. When you like red wine it is advised to drink some Egri Bikavér (Bull’s Blood of Eger). This was in my opinion one of the better red wines I have had.
Connections
Eger is well-connected to other Hungarian cities by train. There are connections to Budapest and Debrecen.
