Things to do in Ushguli
Ushguli is a traditional mountain village in Svaneti. This village is not easily accessible and the positive result is that it feels untouched.
From Mestia you can take a tour with a 4×4 minibus to Ushguli. To rent the whole car by yourself will set you back EUR 90,-. These costs can be divided by 7 people. It isn’t recommended to drive the 46 kilometres by yourself. The trip takes 2,5 hours and it is a terrible road with a lot of rocks and steep cliffs next to the road. Views during the journey are breathtaking.
Connections
Ushguli is one of the more isolated places in Georgia which requires a 4×4 to visit it. If you don’t have your own transport those vehicles depart from Mestia.
