Things to do in Gori
Gori is the birthplace of Joseph Stalin and in this city is an interesting museum about the man who killed millions of Russians. Admirers even can buy some merchandise in the souvenir shop which belongs to the museum. So when a special souvenir is needed Gori is the place for shopping.
Apart from the museum around Gori cave city, Uplistsikhe is worth seeing. The cave city can be reached by taxi and it’s just 20 minutes of driving. Thereafter the tour can continue to the Ateni Sioni church. During my visit in 2014, this church was restored but also without restoration this is not a must-visit.
Connections
Marshrutkas connect Tbilisi with Gori and the journey takes about 3 hours. After Gori further west next stop could be Kutaisi.
