Hvar

Hvar is an island which can be reached by ferry from Split. It is about one hour by ferry and you have to expect to pay about EUR 28 for a return ticket. The ferry will arrive in the city Hvar and from the ferry terminal, you can wander around in the old city centre and climb the hill to the fortress. From this place, there is a panoramic view of Hvar city and the islands. In the fortress, you can buy a combination ticket which gives not only entrance to the fortress but to the historic theatre and clock tower too.

Apart from the fortress Hvar town has old atmospheric narrow streets, old churches, and monasteries. So it is a perfect day tour from Split that offers better options for accommodations in high season to stay.
