Sokcho

Sokcho is a city in the north-eastern part of South Korea. The city itself is not too special but it’s an excellent stop to stay at least two nights for a visit to Seoraksan National Park and Naksan Provincial Park. The city offers a nice harbour and is small enough to visit many parts on foot.

Seoraksan National Park

From Sokcho an excellent day trip is Seoraksan National Park. The park offers good hiking opportunities and nice panoramic views. It’s only a short bus ride from Sokcho and apart from nature, you’ll find some temples in the national park.

Naksan Provincial Park

Naksan Provincial Park offers temples and a rough coastline where you can walk around. It’s an easy tour by public bus from Sokcho. Half a day is enough to see the most important sights and it can be combined with a visit to Seoraksan National Park if you start your day early.
