Things to do in Shymkent and Sayram
Shymkent has a bazaar, a more oriental feeling and it is a city which has enough sights for one full day. A short excursion to Sayram is also an option and in this village historical mausolea are an attraction. Recommended is first to visit Sayram and afterwards Turkestan. Otherwise , Sayram might be a disappointment.
Connections
Shymkent is somewhere in the middle and in the south of Kazakhstan. Your best connection might be by train or by flight from Almaty.
