Things to do in Osaka and Koyasan
Osaka is an excellent spot to stay for one night if you want to Koyasan which is a huge temple settlement with a historic graveyard south of Osaka. The place can be reached by train and cable car. It’s a good day tour and especially after you’ve visited many big Japanese cities it can be nice to visit some quieter areas.
Connections
Osaka is a short train ride from Kobe or Kyoto. Connections are still quite short to Nara or Hiroshima for example.
In big cities in Japan you can always stay in a pod hotel if you don’t find cheap accommodation. I tried this Japanese for one night in Osaka. Because a pod hotel lacks atmosphere.
