Things to do in Nagasaki and Hashima

Nagasaki is, of course, a famous destination because of the atomic bombing during the Second World War. If you’ve visited Hiroshima the history has been told already. In this case, you can focus on the old town, Dejima Museum, and take a boat trip to the island Hashima. Hashima is an abandoned island lying about 15 kilometres from Nagasaki which can be visited by a tour. The island was used for the undersea coal mines, which operated during the industrialization of Japan.

Connections

Nagasaki is well-connected by train to Fukuoka and is an easy day trip from this city.
