Things to do in Fukuoka
Fukuoka itself is just a modern and busy Japanese city. I was not too impressed and I stayed mainly here to get my flight back to the Netherlands which is possible from here and for a day tour to Nagasaki.
Connections
Fukuoka is well connected with Nagasaki so a stay of two nights is recommended with a one- day trip to Nagasaki. There are in addition train connections to Hiroshima or further to the south of Kyushu Island to Kumamoto or Kagoshima. Fukuoka has an international airport so in this aspect, this city is a good option to consider when you don’t want to make a return journey to Kyoto, Osaka, or even Tokyo.
