Things to do in El Jem
El Jem is famous for its large well preserved Roman amphitheatre. Maybe not so large like the Colosseum in Rome but with fewer tourists. There are more places to walk around and enjoy the different views of the building. After the amphitheatre, you can explore the El Jem Museum and the ruins of the African house with the same entrance ticket.
Connections
The easiest way to visit El Jem is by train. The amphitheatre and the El Jem museum are within a short walking distance from the train station. El Jem is connected by train to Sfax, Sousse or Tunis. From Sfax, it is about a one hour journey.
