In 2022, I visited Mauritius for a 1.5-week trip. After this 1.5 weeks, I continued my trip on Reunion Island.
Unlike most visitors, I did not go for the all-inclusive variant, but stayed locally and travelled by public transport. This turned out to be surprisingly easy and also budget-friendly.
