During my holiday through the former Yugoslavia in 2015, I’ve visited Serbia, Montenegro and Croatia. These countries can be combined with a trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina. I’ve stayed two nights in Mostar, three in Sarajevo and one in Visegrad. The best starting point is Mostar which can be reached from the city Dubrovnik and this is about 140 kilometres by bus. Bosnia and Herzegovina is an excellent destination in summer or earlier in the year. Last option especially if you want to avoid the hot summers. But even with 40 degrees in Mostar, it’s still possible to join and enjoy excursions because the air is dry.
