Things to do in Yeghegnadzor
Yeghegnadzor is located in a wine region. As a tourist, you can visit some of these wineries and do a tasting. In addition to the wineries, there are some sights nearby that are worth giving a visit. In my opinion, the highlight in this region is the Noravank Monastery. Apart from the historical buildings, the nature around is impressive. This site is located in a canyon. A visit to the monastery can be combined with the Areni Caves which are along the route.
Outside Yeghegnadzor some other monasteries are located. I have been to Tanahat Monastery. The area is well-maintained and compared to other places really quiet. An option to get there is by taxi from Yeghegnadzor.
Connections
Yeghegnadzor is on the road between Yerevan and Goris. Advice is to make here a stop for two nights to visit the surrounding attractions.
