Things to do in Hiroshima
Hiroshima is of course well-known for the atomic bombing to end the Second World War. The bomb was dropped by the United States and killed more than 140.000 people. Nowadays is at this place are a memorial, a museum, and the Atomic Bomb Dome. An interesting place to visit. When you read the stories in the museum you realize this should never happen again.
Nearby Hiroshima and in case you want to escape the tragic history there is Miyajima or Itsukushima Island. This place is famous for the Itsukushima Shrine and has, in addition, other temples, a pagoda, and a shrine to visit.
Connections
Distance from Osaka to Hiroshima is about 400 kilometres and only two hours by train. After Hiroshima you can continue to Kyushu Island and visit Fukuoka, Kumamoto, and Kagoshima.
