In Tiberias I stayed only for one night but that can be extended to two or more nights when all religious sights will be visited. Sights are hard to reach by public transport because local people look strange at you and are not helpful when you ask for information about the transport. Apparently it is not common practice to use public transport here.
In Tiberias was in 2014 only one hostel which was in fact a cheap hotel. A taxi is offered for EUR 35,- an hour which is four times more expensive than in the Palestinian Territories. A rental car is worth considering in this area.
Haf a day for Tiberias is enough and a boat trip which lasts about an hour on the Sea of Galilee should not be missed. Be prepared that some people on the boat don’t see clearly the difference anymore between walking and sailing on the water. Another way to enjoy the day around Tiberias is a walk around the Sea of Galilee or a trip by bicycle.
