Jerusalem
In Jerusalem there are enough sights to enjoy yourself two full days which makes a stay of three nights a minimum. A fourth night is worth considering because the central location of the city makes it possible to make a day tour to Masada, Ein Gedi and the Dead Sea.
Jerusalem is of course well known for the Western Wall and the ancient city centre. Next to that the Dome of the Rock and the Mount of Olives. The Dome of the Rock was because of tensions closed for non-Muslims in 2014. Luckily has the rest of the city enough to offer. The best view on the Dome of the Rock and the ancient city is offered from the Mount of Olives. A walk to the summit of this hill is about 30 to 45 minutes from the city centre so the taxis which are offered are not needed.
Apart from the well-known attractions are the Tower of David and ruins impressive places to visit and finally, a walk on the Via Dolorosa should not be missed. The Via Dolorosa is the road which is used by Jesus, according to the stories, on his way to the place where now the Church of the Holy Sepulchre is located.
Jerusalem is a clean and well-organised city. But at the weekend during the Shabbat, a visit to the Palestinian Territories is recommended because their businesses are run the whole week. That means all restaurants and public transport runs normally which is more comfortable for tourists. During Shabbat Jerusalem is quiet and a lot of restaurants are closed so try to avoid the city as much as possible at the weekend.
