A second day tour from Latacunga is a visit to Quilotoa crater lake. The lake is at about 3.900 meters altitude so the hike is less difficult compared to the Cotopaxi Volcano. The views are as well spectacular and there are two possibilities. The first one is to hike down and back to the lake. The second one is around the crater lake. The last one I’ve done partly because the whole lake takes about 5 to 6 hours.
