Hervey Bay and Fraser Island
From Adelaide there’s a flight connection to Brisbane and from the city there is a bus connection to Hervey Bay. In Hervey Bay there are organised day tours to Fraser Island. Camping enthusiasts can stay longer on the island. If you like comfort or lacking time this can be skipped. As well if you don’t like dingo’s, the wild dogs which live on the island.
A day tour has a 45 minutes walk through the jungle at Wanggoolba Creek. Next spot is the Seventy-Five Mile Beach, a long beach. In Scheveningen I can see also a beach so for this a trip to Australia is not needed. The stops at the sand formations and shipwreck are worthwhile. If you like there’s a possibility to swim in Eli Creek and after the lunch in Lake McKenzie with lots of other tourists. In short Fraser Island is nice but nothing more than that. It’s touristic, too touristic.
An alternative excursion in Hervey Bay is a tour by electric bicycle It’s an excellent way to see the surroundings and spend a day in Hervey Bay. In Hervey Bay there lives a group of flying foxes which can be visited just on the outskirts of the town.
