In Turkestan is the colorful Mausoleum van Hodja Ahmed Yasav located. This building looks because of its architecture like a part of Uzbek culture. Turkestan is the place to choose in Kazakhstan when you want to see some culture and history. This apart from all the nature which the country has to offer.
In the afternoon you have the possibility to visit the ruins of Sauran by taxi. Public transport isn’t available but a taxi including waiting costs about EUR 14,- in 2016. Cars are waiting outside the mausoleum for their customers. Sauran is located about 50 kilometres outside Turkestan.
