Things to do in Charyn Canyon
About 200 kilometers outside Almaty the Charyn Canyon and other impressive desolate landscapes are located. It’s hard to get there by public transport. The best option is to book a car with a private driver in Almaty. From Almaty, there is a two-day tour to Charyn Canyon, Kaindy Lake and the Kolsai Lakes. A visit to Charyn Canyon is possible with an ordinary rental car, only the last 10 kilometres the road isn’t sealed but it’s still decent enough to drive.

Your best connection is to get here is from Almaty. An option might be that you go from Bishkek in Kyrgystan to Almaty and afterwards to this area.
