With a local tourist office, it’s possible to arrange transport from Borjomi to the Green Monastery, the fortresses near Rabati and Khervisti, and the historical cave city of Vardzia. Cave city Vardzia is one of the highlights which shouldn’t be missed on a trip to Georgia. Like at other places in Georgia again a lot of mountains and impressive landscapes. Near Vardzia there’s also a chance to visit a Georgian “Spa”. This can be skipped because it looks like a dark shed with not so much atmosphere and hygiene.

The most convenient option to visit Vardzia and all the surrounding sights is from Borjomi. Today there are organised day tours offered in Tbilisi too.
