Mostar
Mostar is a beautiful and atmospheric old city that had to suffer in the nineties during the war. During my visit, I noticed that many buildings are reconstructed in its old glory. Some destroyed buildings with bullet holes remember the war which was more than 20 years ago a reality and has been ended with the Dayton agreement in 1995.
After this agreement, the county has three presidents which represent the Croats, Serbs and Bosnian people. Next to this the country is separated into two parts which are the Federation of Bosnië Herzegovina and Republic Srpska. As a tourist it’s hard to notice the difference. Easy visible is the Cyrillic alphabet on the traffic signs in Republic Srpska.
